About Patricia
Patricia was born in Australia but spent most of her childhood in South Yorkshire. She moved to Lancashire in 1977 to study fine art - graduating from the University of Central Lancashire in 1980. Since then her paintings have been widely exhibited in galleries in the North West and throughout the UK including the Storey Gallery in Lancaster, the Colours Gallery in Edinburgh and Rainbow Galleries in London.
In 2004 she represented artists from the North West of England in the Summer Exhibition in Ornkoldsvik, Sweden. Her paintings are held in private collections in the UK and Australia.
Patricia's paintings are distinguished for their colour and expressive dynamism. Always experimenting, her evolving method uses layers of gouache paint on top of textured watercolour washes to convey a highly individual vision which many find exhilarating and uplifting.
Patricia taught at Lancaster and Morecambe College and the Adult College, Lancaster for over twenty years. She now teaches various courses at Alston Hall.
